As a food addict, Jean M. Hamilton had spent her entire life being overweight; then in 2003 at 460 pounds she met Dr. Bradley Amson who started her on a healthy weight loss journey which included having a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass in 2006. Since, Jean has lost over 300 pounds and now has written her story, A Fat Girl’s Butterflies: A true story of extreme weight loss, in hopes it will help inspire others to succeed in their quests for a wholesome fit lifestyle.
For several years Jean has been an active participant and currently is a co-moderator of the Victoria, B.C. Weight Loss Surgery Support Group; as well she is a long-time member of the Duncan, B.C. Support Group and several online Weight Loss Surgery sites. Additionally Jean has attended numerous bariatric related seminars and presentations by renowned doctors to aid in her pursuit of becoming physically fit and healthy.
